3 More Aussie soldiers injured by rogue ANA. How can we trust Muslims

Once again today we have three more Australian soldiers wounded by a rogue member of the Afghan National Army (ANA). This come hot on the heels of an attack 10 days ago where three Australians were killed and seven others injured.

General Hurly warned about drawing links between the two incidents saying “There’s no simple one-line explanation to this,” he also said that Kandak members at the platoon-level Patrol Base Basir have now been disarmed. He also conceded that it was impossible to fully protect Australian troops from rogue Afghan soldiers.

Personally I find that interesting as they were meant to be disarmed after the first attack. There will always be rogue members of the ANA. How many times have we heard that suicide bombers were nice peace-loving people and great neighbours. How work colleagues were shocked their friend was a suicide bomber. This is because this is reality you don’t know until it’s too late. This is how terrorists work they fit in until its time to strike.

General Hurley said “It could be personal grievance, it could be religious ideology. We don’t know, there was no indication.”

That is how they work they attack when you least expect it. The fact we are helping train the ANA, is a concern as well, who are we helping?? Each one of then could turn on our troops at any given time. If you think im putting every one of them in the same basket then maybe I am and with good reason.

When politically correct and culturally diverse societies agree to ‘the reasonable’ Muslim demands for their ‘religious rights,’ they also get the other components under the table. When there are sufficient Muslims in a country they begin to agitate for their so-called ‘religious rights.’Here’s how it works (percentages source CIA: The World Fact Book (2007)).

When the Muslim population remains around 1% of any given country they will be regarded as a peace-loving minority and not as a threat to anyone. Australia currently has a  Muslim population 1.5%.. From 5% on they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population. They will push for the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims. At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islam is not to convert the world but to establish Sharia law over the entire world. you may disagree with that but look at what has been happening here in Australia.

Just recently Ikebal Patel demanded a new taxpayer-funded halal training centre that would prepare refugees for jobs slaughtering animals in rural areas. Well we already have Halal butchers. Patel insisted that for a “couple of million dollars” taxpayers would get more country jobs, more refugees out of big-city “enclaves” and into work, and a stronger home-grown meat and livestock industry “We think the Australian Muslim community can help both the Government and the meat and livestock industry,” said Ikebal Patel. According to Islamic Sharia designates any food, good or action which is permitted to be used or done by God Almighty. So as this food is readily available why should we meet these demands.

Australia has the following laws with regard to halal meats. The standard for meat production in Australia is that all animals must be effectively stunned (unconscious) prior to slaughter. The most common form of halal slaughter complies with the Australian standard. The only difference between this halal-slaughter method is that it uses a reversible stunning method, while conventional humane slaughter uses an irreversible stunning method. Not all animals are allowed to be consumed in Islam and for those permitted they have to be killed in a special way so that they are Halal or edible according to Islamic law.

Well if that wasnt enough there have been calls for sharia laws to be used in conjunction with our laws. We have no use for sharia laws they are barbaric, brutal and discriminatory laws, particularly against women. Recently a  young convert was whipped as part of sharia laws for drinking alcohol. The court was told that  the accused was “a person of prior good character” but acknowledged his actions were due to his links to sharia and the Muslim faith.

Where Islam becomes the predominate religion this is the short list of things one sees:

Wife beating (following extensive Q'uranic instructions)
Capital punishment for leaving Islam
Capital punishment for preaching Christianity
Capital punishment for criticizing Islam
Capital punishment for adultery
Capital punishment for homosexuality
Constant warring and aggression with neighbors
Constant warring and aggression with the west (blowing up skyscrapers, planes, etc)
Enslavement of unbelievers on whom a Dhimmi Zagat slave tax is imposed
EXTREME censorship of outgoing and incoming communications
EXTREME oppression of women
Female education made illegal
Constant beheadings
Constant de-handings
Mutilations for theft
Burning people alive (Honor Burnings)
Honor Rapes
Suicide bombings
Girls as young as 6 years old are forced into sex
Polygamy legalized
Temporary marriages legal to avoid sexual sin
Instant divorce with no consideration for divorced women who are forced into
poverty and underground prostitution until they are hanged, stoned or beheaded

Is this the direction we want our nation to take?? I think not.

So who do we trust?? How can we trust the ANA when seemingly legitimate members are rogues. People of good character end up in court for whipping people. the peace-loving neighbor is a suicide bomber. With these actions it makes it hard to trust anyone who claims to be a peaceful Muslim. That in itself is a shame as there ARE peaceful people. I was raised to believe there is good in everyone. But there has to be trust as well.

As a multicultural nation we have made some concessions, but we should not make any more. Its time to say enough is enough. No more concessions, no sharia law. If you don’t like that well there are other countries that support sharia laws.

Its time Juila Gillard said enough is enough and bring our people home at the very least set a date for them to withdraw. How many more times does this have to happen before she gets the message. Julia claims to be tough, well lets see how tough she is. How hard is it to say they can’t be trusted, so bring them home? Most people are afraid to be caught on the wrong side of Politically Correct viewpoints and it seems Juila Gillard fits in that basket. Personally I’m sick to death of political correctness. Yes it has its place but it has gone to the extreme. People have the right to their opinions, my opinion is based on fact.

UPDATE: Bali, 14 year old on drug charges.

An Indonesian prosecutor says The Australian teenager accused of buying marijuana in Bali will be transferred to Kerobokan jail for processing.Prosecutors had said they would not object to the boy, from Morisset Park north of Newcastle, being released into his parents’ care until his case goes to court. They now say he will be taken to the same prison as Schapelle Corby and the Bali Nine before lawyers can appeal to have him temporarily released as a minor.

The head of Indonesia’s Child Protection Commission says the Australian teenager should be kept in Indonesia for rehabilitation.Dr Asrorum Niam says a judge can order the 14-year-old into a drug rehabilitation program, instead of prison, but he says the teenager should be treated in Indonesia, not Australia. He says Indonesian officials need to monitor the treatment and would not know if the boy was complying with the court’s decision if he was allowed to return to Australia.

The head of Bali’s drug squad, Superintendent Mulyadi, says the boy is in good health. He confirmed the 14-year-old will be moved to another location once prosecutors receive the summary of evidence against him.

“We are waiting for the request and then we will find a suitable custody for the minor,He’s still here for a while for sure until the P21 process is complete,”

He said referring to the summary of evidence documents which police are in the process of compiling. It could still be weeks before the summary of evidence is presented to prosecutors, but the  lawyer for the boy has previously said that he is hopeful it will be presented by the end of the week.

Police have completed their investigation but cannot present their evidence until they receive a crucial report from welfare officers from the Indonesian corrections department who interviewed the boy last Friday.

Under article 128 of Indonesian narcotics laws, those caught with a small amount of the drug are able to be released if they are defined as a frequent user. The boy would still face court, but his parents would have to ensure he completed his rehabilitation. If they fail to report regularly, they could be jailed instead for up to six months. But the case to have the boy released for rehabilitation instead of being sent to jail still needs to be proven in court.

Anti-Wall St protests spread to Australia – ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

Concrete demands of the movement are few, other than a general sense that the “greedy and corrupt” rich, and especially banks, should pay more and that elected governments are not listening.

via Anti-Wall St protests spread to Australia – ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation).

Several hundred people are occupying Freedom Plaza outside city hall in Washington. They are protesting against corporate power in the United States and demand progressive reform. They are joined by the stop the machine rally, located midway between the Capitol and the White House. All with the the same demands as more than 5,000 people of the Ocupy Wall Street movement, who also have Labour union support.

These protests are not just in the United States, there are similar protests, in Sydney 500 protesters set up camp in martin place. a smaller group in Brisbane, In Melbourne, some demonstrators said they planed to camp out for days, and maybe weeks. But it hasnt stopped there.

In new Zealand 200 marched up main street to join3000 gathered in the city square in the capital, Wellington, and another 50 in Christchurch. they were joined by protesters in Taipei, the capitol of Taiwan. All were part of a global movement involving people in 951 cities across 82 countries.

Mark Goudkamp, a Sydney organiser, told the Martin Place rally:

“The planet can’t continue to go on with this unsustainable level of inequality. There needs to be a fundamental overhaul of how our economy works; we need to challenge those who are the most powerful who control the global economy and have an enormous influence on elected politicians”

Melbourne organiser Nick Carson says Australia may have escaped the global financial crisis, but there are still serious issues affecting this nation.

“I think people want real democracy,They don’t want corporate influence over their politicians. They want their politicians to be accountable. We’re not seeing unemployment like in Spain where tens of millions are unemployed. But what we are seeing is a lack of accountability, an unfair influence of giant mining companies, business councils and lobby groups, which represent 1 per cent of most wealthy Australians, while the other 99 per cent go relatively unrepresented.”

Sensational find in Bavaria: first complete dinosaur skeleton discovered in Europe – SPIEGEL ONLINE – News – Science

Sensational find in Bavaria: first complete dinosaur skeleton discovered in Europe – SPIEGEL ONLINE – News – Science.

From the largest discovery in Germany since the Archaeopteryx is the speech: In Bavaria, paleontologists have discovered the best-preserved dinosaur skeleton in Europe – 98 percent of the bones are present. One trick ensures that it can not leave the country.

Kelheim / Munich – Europe’s best preserved dinosaur, the fossil has been discovered in Bavaria. The still unnamed predatory dinosaur (theropod) was 98 percent complete, and thus also one of the world’s best-preserved finds, Oliver Rauhut, said curator at the Bavarian State Collection for Palaeontology and Geology , in Munich on Wednesday. The roughly 72-centimeter-long cub was lying in Kelheim, Lower Bavaria.

As a scientific sensation, the fossil is also because young animals are found extremely rarely, and even skin and hair pieces are still preserved. Now it is presented to the public, on 27 October at the Munich Mineral Show. It will then be on display for four days.

Under the leadership of an international team Rauhut created a first report on the sensational discovery. “The 135 million year old fossil is of paramount scientific importance,” said the dinosaur expert. Many fossils have been found so far in China. “From a distance, see the often very completely. On closer examination, one sees, however, that the bones in preserving them is so great.”

The new find is true only in two dimensions, but the bones and many anatomical details are very well preserved. Compared with other fossils 98 percent completeness are extremely good. “The best preserved Tyrannosaurus skeletons, we have, so about 80 percent and that is really outstanding,” said Rauhut.

Sea-living animals found in the Wadi Hitan desert include five species of whales, including the Dorudon atrox, presently exhibited in the University of Michigan Exhibit Museum. There are also three species of sea cows (Sirenia), two crocodiles, several turtles, and a sea snake, in addition to a large number of fossilized sharks and bony fishes.

This latest discovery is expected to enhance education about whales and geological history in Egypt. It will also help in developing and publicizing the network of national parks in Egypt, where President Hosni Mubarak is emphasizing preservation of natural resources by providing support for conservation of the natural environment.

“Basilosaurus is an enigma of whale evolution because of its unusually long serpentine body,” Gingerich said. “The research team will use the new skeleton to study how it lived and swam, and possibly to learn why it is so abundant in Wadi Hitan.”

The field research group working in Egypt now is led by Gingerich and includes doctoral student Iyad S. Zalmout of the University of Michigan department of geological sciences, Mohamed Sameh M. Antar and Gebely Abu el Khair of EEAA, and a team of eight assistants, all operating from a remote desert camp.

Field study of the fossil whales of Wadi Hitan is sponsored by the National Geographic Society and by the University of Michigan Office of the Vice-President for Research.

Facebook denies tracking users; Response to Nik Cubrilovic’s Blog

Facebook has denied that it tracks its users’ web surfing even when they are logged out, saying it uses tracking cookies only to personalise content and to make the site more secure.

Australian technologist Nik Cubrilovic accused Facebook of using cookies to track users when they are logged off from the service.

Gregg Stefancik a  Facebook engineer, denies the company tracks users in a comment on Cubrilovic’s post. Stefancik did however admit that Facebook alters – but does not delete – cookies when users log out. But he said that is a safety measure, and that Facebook does not use the cookies to track users or sell their personal information.

In a written statement, Facebook said:

“Facebook does not track users across the web. Instead, we use cookies on social plug-ins to personalise content (e.g. show you what your friends liked), to help maintain and improve what we do (e.g. measure click-through rate), or for safety and security (e.g. keeping underage kids from trying to sign up with a different age). No information we receive when you see a social plug-in is used to target ads, we delete or anonymise this information within 90 days, and we never sell your information.”

Facebook said. Logged-out cookies are used to protect consumers, For example, the logged-out cookies are used to identify spammers and phishers, detect when an unauthorised person is trying to access a user’s account, help users regain access to an account when it’s been hacked and disable registration for underage users who try to re-register with a different birthdate. There are some that still believe Facebook has murdered privacy.

Mashable’s Ben Parr wrote.

“Facebook has finally done it, It’s just a few updates away now from euthanising the concept of privacy We’re at the point of no return,Facebook’s passive sharing will change how we live our lives. More and more, the things we do in real life will end up as Facebook posts. And while we may be consoled by the fact that most of this stuff is being posted just to our friends, it only takes one friend to share that information with his or her friends to start a viral chain. Sharing with just your friends doesn’t protect your privacy. I know the people at Facebook will disagree and argue that users can control what is shared with whom. But this is simply an illusion that makes us feel better about all the sharing we have done and are about to do. We may not notice the impact on our lives immediately. But it won’t be long until your life is on display for all of your friends to see, and then we’ll all know what Facebook has wrought.”

His conclusion is the same one reached by privacy advocates who are calling on US federal regulators to take a hard look at the latest changes that Facebook is rolling out.

Facebook launched its dramatic redesign of profiles, with a time line that charts in chronological order all the information users have shared on Facebook. It also showed off new third-party applications that automatically share every action users take: every song they listen to, article they read and video they watch. Mark Zuckerberg calls it “frictionless sharing.”

Marc Rotenberg, the executive director of the watchdog group Electronic Privacy Information Centre, said,

“It’s getting really difficult to evaluate the changes that Facebook makes, and I say that as a privacy professional. I can’t imagine what the typical user goes through. Users might opt in to what Facebook is planning to do, but Facebook never gives users that option. It just marches forward and users have to go along.”

The latest privacy backlash comes as Facebook prepares for its anticipated initial public offering next year. The growing success of what is the world’s most popular social networking service has led analysts to conclude that it is essentially building a second internet where it collects personal data to target advertising. This has raised the hackles of privacy watchdogs who accuse Facebook of putting profit before users. They say users are being pushed to divulge more about their lives than they feel comfortable.

Jeffrey Chester, executive director of the Centre for Digital Democracy said.

“This redesign is part of Facebook’s overdrive effort to boost data collection and ad sales prior to its IPO Under the guise of enhancing the ability of its members to express themselves, Facebook is building a super-charged commercial surveillance system that threatens their privacy.”

Well between my previous Blog and this one I feel Facebook has made a mess of privacy issues for its users, but you need to decide for yourselves, with every upgrade I suggest you check your privacy settings.

New Web Order – Nik Cubrilovic Blog – Logging out of Facebook is not enough

New Web Order – Nik Cubrilovic Blog – Logging out of Facebook is not enough.

Nik Cubrilovic, who conducted tests that revealed that when users log out, the site does not delete tracking ”cookies” but modifies them, keeping information that can identify users as they surf the internet. Facebook admitted last week that the cookies track internet activity after users log off.

10 public interest groups have asked the US Federal Trade Commission to investigate Facebook’s tracking of internet users after they log off. They have urged the commission to examine whether Facebook’s new ticker and timeline features increased privacy risks for users by combining biographical information in an accessible format.

Perrin Aikens Davis, of Illinois –  filed the lawsuit  and seeks class status on behalf of other Facebook users in the US. Mr Davis seeks unspecified damages and a court order blocking the tracking based on violations of federal laws, including restrictions on wire tapping, as well as computer fraud and abuse statutes.

A Facebook spokesman, said in a statement. ”We believe this complaint is without merit and we will fight it vigorously”

Cookies are small text files used by websites that store user preferences and the contents of online shopping carts, among other functions. When users log out websites cookies are more often than not deleted, but Mr Cubrilovic found that Facebook only altered them and they continued to to store data such as his account ID This unique identifier could be used to track logged-out users when they visit other websites that have integrated Facebook functions, such as the “Like” button, he said.  “Logging out of Facebook only de-authorizes your browser from the web application, a number of cookies (including your account number) are still sent along to all requests to facebook.com,” “The only solution is to delete every Facebook cookie in your browser, or to use a separate browser for Facebook interactions.

Now I had no issues with this but i have noticed that after logging out I can still share stuff to my wall from other sites without logging back on. Im not sure I like that, though it saves logging back in. My concern would be multiple family members on the one PC. you may wish to share something and as your logged off whose wall would it go to? Does it post to the last person who was logged on or is there an option to select the account?

Carbon Tax; How we got here

Former PM John Howard gave a speech 5 years ago where he told business leaders his thoughts on an emissions Trading scheme. the then liberal PM told them…

“I think the weight of scientific evidence suggests that there are significant and damaging growths in the levels of greenhouse gas emissions.  And unless we lay the foundation over the years immediately ahead of us to deal with the problem, future generations will face significant penalties and will have cause to criticise our failure to do something substantial in response.”

The speech came  15 years after the first  discussion about carbon pricing, this was the start of a bipartisan commitment to a market-based approach to cutting carbon emissions.

Howard refused to sign the Kyoto Protocol,  Kevin Rudd rose to power with a massive wave of support for climate action, and made his first official act to sign the protocol.  12 months  later on the advice of  Professor Ross Garnaut it was accepted that based on 2000 levels a target was set for a 5% reduction in emissions through the Emissions Trading Scheme. The Greens (a minority party) were not convinced and would not support the scheme as they thought the target to be too low and the industry compensation too high.

Liberal leader Malcolm Turnbull offered bipartisan support for a revamped scheme and in May 2009, entered into talks with Labor. Tony Abbott  who once said the science of climate change “crap” began to doubt the political merits of  Malcolm Turnbull’s position and rolled him less than two months later. This coup set the scene for 22 months of often bitter and angry debate over climate change, scientists received death threats, vilification of the prime minister, and an end to bipartisanship.

In June 2010 Kevin Rudd was dumped and replaced by Julia Gillard because he did not deliver an answer to what he called “greatest moral challenge of our time”. In August 2010 Gillard called a snap election where she promised not to introduce a carbon tax. for the first time in 70 years a minoriity government was formed based on a new and fresh approach to climate change. that change of approach was gained through talks with the Greens and Independants was a carbon tax to start in 2012 and to be followed by an Emissions Trading scheme in 2015 despite the now famous promise not to introduce a carbon tax.

Tony Abbott gained popularity with his direct action climate plan, while support for labour dropped giving the coalition a huge lead. Julia Gillard pushed on with her Clean Energy Future Plan and on Wednesday the bills passed through the lower house. Julia Gillard is relying on pension rises and tax cuts over the next year and the rollout of clean energy projects to change the tide before the 2013 election, and that things will move along just as they did when John Howard gave us the GST
So where are we today. Well we are told we will all be better off, and have even been supplied a calculator so we can see it for ourselves. but taking into account some other figures the government model overlooked some may be worse off.
Lets take a look at Queensland. Queensland Treasury modelling shows it could cost consumers up to 10 per cent extra next financial year. But Liberal National Party energy spokesman Steve Dickson guesses the figure will be more like 22 per cent. He said..

The Queensland Competition Authority had already raised electricity prices by 6.6 per cent this financial year, acknowledging the need for investment in distribution networks, changes in power generation and operating costs, and customer growth.

The sector had wanted an 18.5 per cent rise and it could push to make up the difference next financial year and ask for a 12 per cent rise, Mr Dickson said.

“What I’m concerned about is that for the 2012 financial year, we’ll have the impact of the carbon tax and then the natural increases for electricity in Queensland,” Mr Dickson said.

“When you bang those two things together it’s a big cost.

“End-users could be paying an extra 20 per cent for their electricity next financial year.

So based on that the Governments compensation will do little to ease the cost increase facing low income earners.
Personally I am still at a loss over this, we were raised and taught that co2 was good for the trees and plants as they thrived on it, so they are eating up the co2 emissions as we speak. Now unless things have changed dramatically in science, this still stands true today, so looking around at the concrete jungles we have built wouldnt it be better to plant trees?? yes we need clean energy that i agree with but a tax is not the way to go. Why not look at solar power? This is a clean renewable energy is it not. wouldnt that cut emissions, and go some way towards offetting the emission from say a steel company.
In the end we all want what is right for our future, and the future of our children and their children.  another tax is not the answer, another tax wont create jobs it will put more burden on manufacturers, it will increase prices and it will in the end cost jobs. There are other ways and if people stopped fighting and lying about this subject maybe we could look at other alternatives.

Did the Toowoomba Rugby League Chairman Go Too Far? – ABC Queensland – Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC)

Did the Toowoomba Rugby League Chairman Go Too Far? – ABC Queensland – Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).

Its bad enough the section was called rednecks corner then the so called joke which i to would never repeat was in extremely bad taste. i think a public figure should have more sense than to put that out there where kids have the potential to see it.

Toowoomba Rugby League Chairman and former magistrate Greg McIntyre yesterday he declined to make any comment.

TRL director Vicki Ryan who also declined to comment except to say the directors were aware of public opinion about the poem and they apologised.

But Central Division Regional Football manager Rex Zeeman said last night there would be no formal apology because the TRL had received no complaints from the public.

Well i think some sort of an apology should be forth coming people were offended and rightly so. What are they teaching the youth of today?

Social Gaming; The Biggest Legal Con

I have been a part of social network gaming for a few years now, and the thing that strikes me now is the greed from the company’s making the games. They appear to be all about the mighty dollar and ways to make you pay. The sad thing is people do pay and some pay a huge amount. why??.

I have to admit i spent $30 on a game but that was gifted to me by my son in the form of game cards. Not because i had to be better than everyone. The thing is people spend money to make them stronger or better than others. why? what satisfaction does that bring?

Now playing these games I may not have been the strongest player but I got a lot of satisfaction knowing I got where I was on my own using strategy skills not cash. The gaming company’s make money from advertising etc. then top that up with the money people spend well they make Millions off what is essentially a free game.

One company in particular made millions off its players, they ignored their players and changed things within the game and left things go unfixed after they broke and why? Well if you think about it you will find it was all a money grab. People could not finish things as they were broken so to complete they had to spend money on the game. what incentive did this give the company to fix things?

Now for those like myself, who spent little or no money on the game walking away from the game is easy, it’s just a game, but for those who have spent Hundreds even Thousands on it well they can’t walk so easily. They have invested too much in the game to just walk away, instead they put up with the glitches and errors in the game the constant game rollbacks because of program errors. Now if your new computer performed like that you would want it fixed or your money back, but no these people just give the company more money.

Eventually as these games die in popularity they will be closed down and new ones opened, Those who spent money will have no recourse to get their money back because the spent it of their own free will. They could have walked away instead of spending money on pixels, so in reality they may have just as well flushed their money down the toilet, either way they will have nothing to show for it in the end.

Wake up people you need the money more in real life, don’t waste it, if you want to spend money on games go and buy a game don’t waste it on FREE games
